The building instructions are watermarked to prevent unauthorized distribution.Reports, news, pics, videos, discussions and documentation from a studded world. I therefore strongly recommend building the moc with original LEGO bricks. I expressly do not guarantee that this moc can be built with bricks from other manufacturers or that this leads to a stable model. There may only be a few details that could be somewhat less stable than they would be included in an original LEGO building.įor creating these instructions and for building this moc I used exclusively original LEGO bricks. Overall, this building is absolutely stable and as playable as comparable Lego buildings. Non of these create excessive tension in the parts. The instructions contain very few building techniques that one perhaps could call "illegal". The instructions and parts list do not include the minifigures shown in the first picture, but they do include all of the minifigure accessories shown in the detail pictures. "brick brick" to 30136 brick, modified 1x2 log) in order to further reduce the overall cost or to use bricks that are already in your own inventory. In addition, many parts can be replaced with those in other colors or in a slightly different shape (e.g. € 300 (stores located in Germany, shipping included). If you collect the needed parts with a little attention to the price (for example, the shingles for the roof are best bought direct from LEGO), it is possible to buy the nearly 3000 parts for approx. When planning the Moc, I had a focus on not using too expensive or exclusive parts. In general the Medieval Tavern moc nevertheless is a completely independent construction. To ensure the Medieval Tavern moc matches the overall style of the 21325 LEGO Medieval Blacksmith, I had to borrow some of the techniques and optical elements that were used in the LEGO set, especially in the roof area. The upper floors are easy to remove and there are two removable roof parts for getting full access to the attic. The Medieval Tavern moc is designed as a modular building. Since not every corner of the attic is frequently visited, a rather large spider has moved in and is now guarding a small treasure in the back corner. The moc features a tavern with kitchen, an open cooking area and a closed fireplace on the ground floor, two bedrooms, one of them with a fireplace and a "toilet", on the first floor and a straw bed, some stored items and a clothesline on the second floor. It is about 28cm high and therefore fits perfectly with the blacksmith. This moc of a medieval tavern with inn was created to be presented together with the 21325 LEGO Medieval Blacksmith. If you’re experienced at smoking food and are ready to move up to the next level, you need this deluxe offset smoker. However, it’s a great option if you enjoy tending the fire and “controlling the cook” or have dreams of entering the next big BBQ competition. It’s important to note that an offset smoker is an all-day, hands-on experience that’s meant to be savored it’s not something you’ll fire up after a long day at work. Smoking aficionados swear by offset smokers because they say the food develops a superlative texture and flavor you can’t achieve through other methods. Some units also can be used to grill over the firebox portion. These types of smokers, which burn charcoal and wood, are ideal for large, inexpensive cuts of meat, because they cook them “low and slow” with indirect heat. An offset smoker, also known as a “stick burner,” features a horizontal cooking chamber with a firebox, attached to the side, or “offset.” One of the first custom offset smokers was produced from surplus oil pipe, but they’ve come a long way since then. When using temp probes the temp guage (the gauge glows in the dark!!!) that came with the smoker was very close to probe reading when probe was placed at the same level. If you love grilling and smoking foods, it may be time to take your skill set to the next level. Very happy with smoker! Temps did not swing and were rather steady. With chimney in traditional port and baffles out I used 1 chimney full of charcoal in the fire box and 2 in the cook chamber on the charcoal grates spaced out time wise to raise temp slowly and careful not to exceed max temp of 450 so I targeted 400 using dampers. I did not have any bubbling or peeling anywhere. Still have some leaking around doors with the seals but very minimal! My biggest piece of advice is use charcoal to burn in while following instructions. Did not have any smoke leak between firebox and cook chamber without seals. Needed 2 rolls of seal ti finish but have plenty left over. Put the seals around both doors and between 2 halves of firebox and not between firebox and cooking chamber. I did use the door clamps and OK mod seals. Only thing I wish was designed differently is closer spec on smoke stack and design for securing legs and stack other than a clamp bolt design.
Another potential treatment for some patients with macular holes is the injection of ocriplasmin (Jetrea®) into the vitreous. Potential complications of the procedure include cataract formation, retinal detachment, infection, glaucoma, bleeding, and re-opening or persistence of the macular hole (less than 10% of cases). Vitrectomy has a success rate of over 90%, with patients regaining some or most of their lost vision. This will allow the bubble to gradually dissolve and be replaced by natural eye fluids. The patient may be asked to maintain a face-down position for several days, and in some cases up to 2 weeks, depending on the characteristics of the macular hole. In this surgical procedure, the vitreous gel is removed to stop it from pulling on the retina, and most commonly a gas bubble is placed in the eye to gently hold the edges of the macular hole closed until it heals. Vitrectomy is the most common treatment for macular holes. © the American Society of Retina Specialists. This image was originally published in the ASRS Retina Image Bank. History of a retinal tear or detachment.Macular holes are most common in people age 60 or older and seem to be more common in women.Īge is the primary risk factor for the development of macular pucker, but additional risk factors include: Retinal detachment Genetics, environmental factors, and systemic causes don’t seem play a role in macular hole formation.Macular pucker: formation of a scar tissue layer over the macula that can warp and contract, causing wrinkling of the retina.High degree of myopia (nearsightedness).Injury or trauma: some young people develop macular holes after blunt trauma. With normal aging, the vitreous can shrink and pull away from the retina, sometimes creating a macular hole in the process. Vitreous traction: the vitreous is the “gel” that fills up the inside of the eye.Several conditions can increase the risk of macular hole formation, including: If a macular hole develops in one eye, there is a 5% to 15% risk of one developing in the other eye. For this reason, there is currently no effective way to prevent their formation and development. The vast majority of cases develop spontaneously without an obvious cause. Macular hole commonly affects people over the age of 55 and most often occurs in women. The degree to which vision is affected will depend on the size and location of the macular hole, as well as the stage of its development. Distortion (straight lines appearing wavy). The most common symptom of macular hole is a gradual decline in the central (straight-ahead) vision of the affected eye. When a full-thickness defect develops in the macula, the condition is referred to as macular hole. If you would like more information about what causes a macular hole, please contact Associated Retina Consultants at 60 or website to schedule an appointment with our doctors. The macula is a small area in the center of the retina where light is sharply focused to produce the detailed color vision needed for tasks such as reading and driving. Macular pucker: formation of scar tissue over the macula that can warp and contract, causing wrinkling of the retina. The cause of a macular hole is usually associated with aging and usually occurs in people over the age of 60. In either case, the fluid that has replaced the shrunken vitreous can then seep through the hole onto the macula, blurring and distorting central vision. This increases tension on the retina and can lead to a macular hole. Also, once the vitreous has pulled away from the surface of the retina, some of the fibers can remain on the retinal surface and can contract. However, if the vitreous is firmly attached to the retina when it pulls away, it can tear the retina and create a macular hole. Some patients may experience a small increase in floaters, which are little “cobwebs” or specks that seem to float about in your field of vision. This is normal and in most cases, there are no adverse effects. Natural fluids fill the area where the vitreous has contracted. As we age, the vitreous slowly shrinks and pulls away from the retinal surface. The vitreous contains millions of fine fibers that are attached to the surface of the retina. Most of the eye’s interior is filled with vitreous, a gel-like substance that fills about 80% of the eye and helps it maintain a round shape. A macular hole can cause blurred and distorted central vision. The macula provides the sharp, central vision we need for reading, driving and seeing fine detail. A macular hole is a small break in the macula, located in the center of the eye’s light-sensitive tissue called the retina. If it’s a bacterial infection, you may need antibiotics. How do I choose the best frame rate for my video?įirst of all, there is no such thing as the “best” frame rate. On the other hand, people who create animated GIFs will often sacrifice detail for a smaller file size and choose a low frame rate. A higher frame rate keeps the motion smooth and the details crisp. Live videos or videos with a lot of motion, such as sporting events or video game recording, often have higher frame rates because there’s a lot happening at once. Different frame rates yield different viewing experiences, and choosing a frame rate often means thinking about multiple factors, such as how realistic you want your video to look or whether or not you plan to use techniques like slow motion or motion-blur effects.įor example, Hollywood-style movies are usually displayed at 24fps, since this frame rate is similar to how we see the world and creates a very cinematic look. Why does frame rate matter?įrame rate greatly impacts the style and viewing experience of a video. The speed at which they’re shown tricks your brain into perceiving smooth motion. So if a video is captured and played back at 24fps, that means each second of video shows 24 distinct still images. It’s usually expressed as “frames per second,” or FPS. Each of those images is called a “frame.”įrame rate, then, is the speed at which those images are shown, or how fast you “flip” through the book. Whether digital or old-school film, video is a series of still images that, when viewed in order at a certain speed, give the appearance of motion. Remember those cool little flipbooks where a pad of paper had an image on every page, and when you flipped through the pages quickly, the image would appear to animate and move? What are the different types of frame rates?.How do I choose the best frame rate for my video?.Not to worry! We’ve broken down the definition of frame rate and why it matters in an easy-to-understand guide. After all, there are multiple factors to take into account when choosing a frame rate. Getting started with video can be a little intimidating, especially when you hear so many technical-sounding terms, like frame rate or fps.Įven if you’ve heard of frame rate, it can be hard to be sure which choice is best for your videos. |
